Love Is Blind...I Don't Think So!
The origin of the phrase "love is blind" can be traced back to William Shakespeare. Shakespeare used the term in several of his plays and it is said that this phrase was one of his favorite lines.
A simple definition of the term "love is blind" is defined as two people who are in love with one another and one person in the relationship may have major flaws, but the other person is willing to look pass those flaws.
I personally, do not believe that love is blind. I think a person's need for love makes them blind to what is going on in the relationship not the love itself. People want to be in love. People want someone that makes them feel safe and special. It should be said, the delusion of love is blind.
For example, the MTV show Catfish. The people that appear on that show see the obvious signs that the person they want to be in love with, the person they want to make them feel safe is not who they claim to be, but they continue to pursue a relationship that is already somewhat questionable.
Love is a choice not a feeling. Feelings come and go so don't get caught in the delusion of love. Love with your heart, mind and eyes open.
